Two rescued from police custody

BAHAWALNAGAR: Two persons were rescued from police custody by a court bailiff in Chishtian on Thursday.

A Chishtian Saddar police official kept Asghar and Azad, both of Jodheka Chak, at Chak Dadu police post for three days and tortured them.

Iqbal, brother of Azad, moved the judicial magistrate court, and got rescued Asghar and Azad from the custody of inspector Ijaz Shah through a bailiff.

Both were shifted to the Bahawalnagar District Headquarters Hospital due to their deteriorating condition.

UNSEALED: District Coordination Officer Haider Iqbal ordered the Bahawalnagar Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) on Thursday to deseal the seven private schools and settle the commercial fee issue through talks.

Scores of students of private schools demonstrated on Thursday for the second consecutive day in protest at the closure of their institutions.

The schools were sealed for defaulting on commercial fees by the TMA.

The DCO assured them that no school would be sealed in future on fees grounds.
