Court orders medical examination of police torture victim
GUJRANWALA: Special Magistrate Noor Muhammad on Wednesday directed medical examination of a man allegedly tortured by Sadar police.
Muhammad Akram, a resident of Attawa, in his writ petition stated that Sadar police arrested him without any FIR against him on Oct 1. The petitioner said that he was brutally tortured by the police for 12 days. He said that when his condition got critical, the police officials threw him in a field. He requested the court to order for his medical examination. At this, the court ordered his medical examination.
