Cop held for involvement in kidnapping, killing

LAHORE

CIA City Kotwali police arrested an ASI who was involved in the kidnapping-cum-killing of an 18-year-old boy in the Lohari Gate police limits one year back. A case was registered on the complaint of one Muhammad Saleem, on February 28, 2014 following the kidnapping of his son named Muhammad Arsalan. One of the three kidnappers was in police uniform.

The accused persons were identified as Fahad Mahmood, Nasir, ASI Asif Ali Khan and his brother ASI Saif Ali Khan. Local police arrested Fahad following which the investigation of the case was handed over to CIA Kotwali police. DSP CIA Khalid Abubakar headed a special police team which collected particulars of the accused persons and arrested Nasir and ASI Asif Ali Khan. However, ASI Saif Ali Khan is still at large. Police have yet to recover the body of victim boy. CCPO has announced cash prize and certificates for the police team.

BARRED: The FIA Immigration officials at the Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore on Friday intercepted a passenger who wanted to leave the country despite having his name on the ECL. The passenger was identified as Amoon Ayub, son of Muhammad Ayub. During an initial interrogation, Amoon revealed that he was involved in a murder case. He told the FIA investigators that an FIR had also been registered against him for the same charges at Sarwar Road Chakwal Police Station since 2010. His brother was also in judicial lockup while he absconded to Dubai, he said. The FIA investigators handed Amoon over to the Anti Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) officials of the FIA Lahore for further necessary actions.

phones: Around 176 mobile phones, valuing Rs four million, have been recovered by the Customs Staff at the Allama Iqbal Airport on Friday. The mobile phones were recovered from a passenger named Syed Rehan Ahmad Zaidi who arrived at the Allama Iqbal Airport by PK-758 flight. Similarly, Customs Anti Smuggling Squad has claimed to recover Toyota TZ Prado valuing Rs five million.
